India Telecom Subscriber Statistics November 2014


Overall tele-density

The number of telephone subscribers in India increased to 964.20 Million at the end of November 2014 as compared with 962.63 million in October 2014, thereby registering a growth rate of -0.16%.

The overall tele-density in India reached 77.12.  The urban teledensity is 147.38 and rural teledensity is 45.76

Wireless tele-density (GSM, CDMA & FWP)

Wireless subscriber base decreased from 935.35 million in October 2014 to 937.06 million at the end of November 2014, registering a growth of 0.18%.

Wireless tele-density stands at 74.95

Wire line tele-density

Wire line subscriber base declined from 27.28 million in October 2014 to 27.14 million at the end of November 2014. BSNL/MTNL, two PSU operators, hold 75.96%  of the wire line market share.

Overall wire line tele-density is 2.17.

Broadband (512 Kbps download)

Total broadband subscriber base has increased from 79.21 million in October 2014 to 82.22 million in November 2014, a growth of 3.79%.

Mobile Number Portability Requests 

By the end of November 2014, about 139.49 million subscribers have submitted their requests to different service providers for porting their mobile numbers.

Active Wirless subscribers 

Active wireless subscribers in VLR in November 2014 are 824.38 million. The proportion of VLR subscribers is approximately 87.98% of the total wireless subscriber base reported by the service providers.
